Life in Chaos

If you have hung in with me this long. Thanks! I bet you are wondering what is up us since my last post. Well, we close on escrow today on our old house. We hit a few road bumps during escrow that left us praying for a sale, so we are very thankful that the deal is closing today. We are also kinda sad. We loved that house and we are not sure what will become of it when it changes hands. We left the yard a bit unkempt when we moved since our mower was broken and Mark was out of town the 4 days before our move. Hopefully the new owner will take good care of it and weed the gardens. I will miss the rose garden a lot.

We are now a Hoosier family! Yay! The move went so smoothly. Stressful for sure, but nothing went horribly wrong. We moved into our new apartment last Monday and still are not near unpacked or organized. In the time we had at my in-laws house before the truck arrived, we stumbled across some land in Middlebury, IN that we fell in love with. So, in order to secure a deal to buy it, we had to go back up to their house for a few days last week. We really haven't been home much since the move. Add to that a lots of shopping trips to the furniture stores (this place is bigger than our house was), Bed, Bath and Beyond (can we say, "no storage space"???) to get storage supplies, Target to replace all that I couldn't bring with me like cleaning supplies, and the countless trips to the nearby eateries for meals. Unpacking has been slow to say the least.

Oh, I forgot to add that the day we moved in the place had no appliances whatsoever, no upstairs toilet, the tile man was here grouting the tile, there was lots of trim work and painting touchups to be done, we had no linolium in the laundry room, we had now shower rod or curtain for the only tub in the house, and we have 3 staircases and only one gate. Over the period of 3 days all that stuff got done, but it sure was in inconvenience. It's hard to unpack when the house is not complete. Add to that the fact that I did laundry for the first time 2 nights ago and we woke up to a very wet laundry room floor and basement carpet. We found out yesterday that our water/sewer line is clogged with a ROCK! Yes, they found a huge rock in the pipe that is used as the cleanout line. I can't do laundry, run the dish washer or flush the toilet till they fix it. We cheated and flushed the toilet a few times, but my carpet is still soaked and we are running out of clothes.

LOL! OK, no joke. As I was typing this David jumped off of something in his room upstairs and a ceiling light bulb in the kitchen shattered! Yep, broken glass all over the floor. Lukily there were no kids in the kitchen and I was able to get it all cleaned up.

So, if you are reading this and feel so inclined, you can say a quick prayer for us that nothing else would break. Thanks!
