Labor Day family reunion

This past Labor Day we had 21 people at our house. Mark's parents, grandmother, his cousin Susan and her son Michael, and two of his sisters and their families. Mark's youngest sister Julie and her family were unfortunately not able to be here. They moved to Iowa this summer and also have a new baby. We really missed them.

What a blessing it was to have a house and yard big enough for the 11 kids to play in and a kitchen and dining area to feed everyone. Cooking for that many people was a snap and serving from our huge island was great. We easily fit everyone in and we didn't have to eat in shifts.

Here are David and Michael (who met for the first time this weekend) playing soccer.

We were also able to get some family shots with my tripod and camera timer. I did the set up for the photos and then pushed the button and ran to my seat! Here we all are:

I don't remember who's idea this was but I think it turned out fun!

We are SO looking forward to Christmas break when we can have everyone here again. We picked up two more sleds from the school garage sale this weekend and we'll be hoping for lots of snow for our hills!
